The Heart of an Artist

Art comes in many forms and one thing is for sure, it originates at the very core of the artist. A tiny flicker in the soul can turn into a beautiful work of art. Whether it's a painting, a song or a piece of jewelry, art must also speak to the hearts of those enjoying it.

I have a great deal of respect for artists. It's not always easy
putting yourself out there but I'm so glad artists do. How else might we enjoy thier work? Of course to an artists it's not work, it's a passion. One of my favorite artists is Starshadow (you can see her work at http://www.redbubble.com/people/starshadow). I also love the work of tattoo artists like Steven Vaughn (his work can be seen at http://tattoomoney.com/). Maybe not your average choices of artists but they are great and deserve recognition.

Chalk Turquoise

Natural turquoise is very expensive and getting much more rare every day what with mines being mined out and closed. "Stabilized" turquoise such as soft or chalk turquoise has been
infused with expoxy resin to seal it. This treatment brings a deeper color to the rock and as it is worn it absorbs the oils from the skin and the colors in the turquoise stabilize and become permanent. The beautiful robin egg blue color is soft and expressive. Most of the turquoise now on the market is stabilized.
