Chalk Turquoise

Natural turquoise is very expensive and getting much more rare every day what with mines being mined out and closed. "Stabilized" turquoise such as soft or chalk turquoise has been
infused with expoxy resin to seal it. This treatment brings a deeper color to the rock and as it is worn it absorbs the oils from the skin and the colors in the turquoise stabilize and become permanent. The beautiful robin egg blue color is soft and expressive. Most of the turquoise now on the market is stabilized.
